Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Taylor is an American actor and producer who is best recognized for her roles performed on the television series Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist as well as the TV series The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue is an American actor, producer and director who has worked in both film and television. She started acting on stage before appearing in independent, mainstream and TV series. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she was praised by critics and received numerous nominations and awards, including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. In addition to the Broadway production Come and Gone, she also has credits for Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is highlighted through her appearances as a character in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her part as a regular in the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
