After graduating, she began to pursue music as her main focus. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included queef, a body positive song and the winking NYC Bitchethe hometown tour for $. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in 2015, which was a different project. Her resume contained both an author and musician.
